What to know before we begin
A plain-language summary of how your information is handled, what stays confidential and where the limits sit, how online sessions work, and your rights around fees. A full copy of my privacy notice and consent paperwork is available in the office, and I am glad to walk you through any of it before your first session.

Your privacy
When you use the form on my contact page, you share your name, an email or phone number, and anything you choose to write. That information is used for one purpose: to get back to you and to arrange care. It is not sold, not shared for marketing, and not added to mailing lists.
Notes left through the website are stored securely and are visible only to me. You can ask me at any time what I hold about you, or ask that a message you sent be removed.
I keep records for as long as I am required to, and then dispose of them properly. If you decide not to work with me, anything you sent through the website can be deleted on request.
Confidentiality, and its limits
What you tell me stays between us. There are a few situations where I am required to act, and I would rather you hear them here than be surprised later:
- If I come to believe you are in imminent danger of hurting yourself, or that someone else is in imminent danger.
- If I suspect a child, an older adult, or a person with a disability is being abused or neglected. The law asks me to report this.
- If a court orders records released.
- Where I consult with a clinical supervisor or consultant to support your care. What they hold is confidential in the same way.
I see clients as part of Eclipse Therapy Group. Your information is not shared with the other clinicians there unless you ask us to coordinate your care together.
Online sessions
Sessions by video or phone are held on a platform built for healthcare conversations. Nothing is recorded. Please join from a private space where you can speak freely, and let me know if someone else is in the room with you.
Technology fails sometimes. If we lose the connection, I will call you on your phone within five minutes. If we cannot get back in touch, we pick up another time.
I am licensed in Pennsylvania, so online sessions are available to adults living in Pennsylvania. If you are traveling outside the state, please tell me — we may need to meet by phone only, or pause until you are back.
Your consent, and your choices
Starting therapy is your decision, and it stays yours. You can ask me to explain anything, decline a suggestion, slow down, or stop altogether at any point. You do not need to justify leaving.
If something I do does not sit right with you, tell me first — most problems are solved by saying so out loud. If you would rather raise a concern about my conduct with someone outside this practice, you can contact the licensing board that issued my license: the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, or the New York State Education Department Office of the Professions.
Fees, scheduling and cancellations
Sessions are private pay: $150 for an individual session and $175 for a couples session. I do not bill insurance directly. I can give you a superbill — an itemized receipt you can send to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and one your health savings account will usually cover.
Life happens. If you need to reschedule, please let me know as soon as you can so the hour can go to someone who needs it, and we will find a new time together.
Your first consultation is free, and there is no obligation to book a session after it.
Good Faith Estimate
Because you are paying privately, federal rules give you the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost before your first session. Just ask, by email or in person, and I will provide one.
If a bill turns out to be at least $400 more than the estimate I gave you, you can dispute it through a federal process. The government's help line can walk you through it: 1-800-985-3030.
Your records
You can ask for a copy of your records in writing, and I will provide one. Notes I keep for my own clinical thinking are handled separately under federal privacy rules, and I will explain how they are treated if you ask.
If you are in crisis
Email and the contact form are not monitored around the clock, so please do not use them for an emergency. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), or dial 911. If you are already working with me, I will give you my after-hours instructions at your first session.
