EMDR therapy
I am EMDR trained and offer it as part of therapy for trauma and distressing experiences, in person in Chestnut Hill and online across Pennsylvania.
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy for trauma and distressing life experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help the brain reprocess memories so they feel less intense and more firmly in the past.
Who it may help
EMDR is most widely studied for trauma and PTSD. It can also be useful when a memory or a moment keeps intruding on the present, including experiences connected to anxiety, grief or big life changes.
How we would use it
EMDR is one approach I may offer when it fits your goals, and we would decide together whether to use it. We begin by getting to know your history and building ways to feel grounded before any reprocessing work, and it sits alongside the rest of our work rather than replacing it.
In person and online
EMDR sessions are available in person at my Chestnut Hill office and online for adults living in Pennsylvania.
